Our Commitment to Your Vision Health
Comprehensive Eye Examinations
At Clarus Optometry, we combine advanced digital technology with experienced clinical care to safeguard your vision and long-term eye health.
Accurate Prescription Testing: Using modern digital phoropters, we determine your exact visual acuity for clear, customized spectacle prescriptions.
Comprehensive Ocular Health Examinations: With slit lamp biomicroscopy, we evaluate the anterior segment of the eye to detect and manage conditions like dry eye, eyelid disorders, and corneal abnormalities.
Advanced Retinal Imaging: We offer both traditional eye dilation and advanced Optos Retinal Imaging to thoroughly evaluate your overall eye health. While dilation uses eye drops that temporarily cause light sensitivity and blurry near vision, it allows for a detailed view of the far peripheral retina—essential for patients susceptible to peripheral retinal degeneration. For those who prefer a drop-free option and fast screening, Optos Retinal Imaging captures a ultra-widefield, high-resolution digital scan of your retina. This permanent digital map allows us to screen for and track early signs of glaucoma, macular degeneration, retinal tears, diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy, and choroidal nevi over time.
Specialist Coordination: If a condition requires advanced surgical or secondary care, our team handles prompt referrals to trusted ophthalmologists throughout the Triangle.
Pediatric Eye Exams
Did you know?
Vision problems affect about 1 in 5 preschool-age children, and 1 in 4 school-age children in the U.S. wear glasses or contacts.¹
Early detection and treatment are key to preventing vision problems from worsening, helping your child build a strong foundation for lifelong eye health.
We know that a visit to the doctor can feel intimidating for little ones. Our team goes above and beyond to make every child feel welcomed, safe, and comfortable from the moment they walk through our doors.
Dr. Son provides comprehensive eye care for children ages 4 and up, focusing on a friendly, engaging exam experience. In addition to delivering accurate prescriptions, she checks key developmental benchmarks like visual alignment (evaluating for strabismus), depth perception (stereopsis), binocular coordination (checking for amblyopia), and color vision. She aims to build a foundation for lifelong vision health and make every visit fun—topped off with a well-deserved treat at the end!

Diagnosis of Ocular Diseases
Dr. Son detects and diagnoses a comprehensive range of ocular pathology, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and the ocular manifestations of systemic conditions like diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy. She provides ongoing clinical monitoring for posterior segment conditions such as choroidal nevi and retinal degeneration.
When a condition requires surgical intervention or advanced sub-specialty care, Dr. Son coordinates prompt and appropriate referrals. Consistent follow-up evaluations are essential for any patient with a history of retinal disease.
